THE BEST OF THE BOWL: SUPER BOWL ADS WE LOVE
More than football, which turned out to be somewhat unexciting this year (sorry, Broncos!), the Super Bowl is all about ads—ads for beer, ads for cars, ads for phones, ads for food. And among them all it’s not always easy to pick favorites. We did our best to narrow them down. Take a look at our favorite ads from this year’s big game:
MICROSOFT | Empowering
This commercial was powerful, pure and simple. By demonstrating the many things technology can do for people in a human way, Microsoft was able to tug at the heart strings of everyone watching.
COCA-COLA | It’s Beautiful
This Coca-Cola commercial reminded us all of how diverse, racially, culturally and geographically, America is—and how beautiful that diversity is. Depicting Americans from every walk of life, Coca-Cola reminded us all that we are connected—even if it’s just by the soda we’re drinking.
BUDWEISER | Puppy Love & A Hero’s Welcome
Both Puppy Love and A Hero’s welcome pulled at our heartstrings and even made us tear up. Both warm messages
DORITOS | Cowboy Kid
What we like most about the two Doritos commercials that ran this year was not just that they were memorable or clever; rather, we like the way Doritos engaged with their triangle-chip fans with their “Crash the Super Bowl” contest. Inviting consumers to create their own ads is just another way Doritos was able to relate to their audience.
NEWCASTLE BROWN ALE | Behind the Scenes of the Mega Huge Football Game Ad Newcastle Brown Ale Almost Made
This clever spot is centered around the Super Bowl ad Newcastle almost did, and even includes fake focus groups. While this spot never actually aired during the Super Bowl, we still wanted to give it a shout out for receiving almost 5 million views. Not bad for an ad that never happened.
