RUSSIA DAY GALA
The Drake Hotel’s Gold Coast Ballroom was radiating glamor on Thursday, June 13, when an estimated 250 Russian-Americans celebrated Russia’s national holiday. The holiday commemorates the day the Russian Parliament formally declared sovereignty over Russia in 1990.

Hosted by Chairs Aleksandra Efimova and Prince Piotr Galitzine of the Moscow Committee of Chicago Sister Cities International, in partnership with the US-Russia Chamber of Commerce, the Russia Day Celebration began with a networking opportunity that featured a live band playing authentic Russian folk music, beverages from Real Russian vodka to sommelier selected wines and hors d’oeuvres.

In all, the celebration was a glamorous affair of food, friends and fabulous gowns. We are excited to see how the Russian community in Chicago grows, as collaboration between the United States and the Russian Federation intensifies.
