OUR SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS PRACTICES

In addition to advocating sustainable business practices with our clients and creating consumer-oriented brands, we ourselves do the best to take care of the environment. Here is how:

Employing sustainable printing practices

We are huge advocates of using environmentally friendly paper and employing eco-friendly options. We work with printing companies that provide the FSC certified papers to ensure sustainable forestry, and, internally, we use 100% post-consumer recycled paper. We also promote developing effective online solutions in place of direct mail or other print campaigns.

For our office in Evanston, we purchase only Energy Star certified printing equipment, and our Santa Monica office  does not employprinting equipment at all. We do not  print in color and, whenever possible, ask our clients to review our work digitally.

Recycling

With multiple recycle bins in our offices – one by each desk, – we ensure that we recycle every day. And when it comes to used equipment and furniture, we make an effort to donate it to NFP organizations.

Our offices

IIS office in Evanston is located in the Rotary International Building that is Energy Star Certified and the recipient of the outstanding building of the year award (TOBY.) The objective of the TOBY award is to recognize excellence in building management, operational efficiency, sustainability, tenant retention, emergency planning and community impact.

Our office in Santa Monica allows for open window policies which enables us to reduce and eliminate  use of air conditioning  and heat.
We promote healthy eating in our offices and do not use microwaves to avoid radiation; instead we use electric ovens. When purchasing food for the office, we primarily buy organic, natural, and fresh ingredients to avoid processed food.
In addition, both Evanston and Santa Monica offices are located five minutes away from the water front and parks, where our employees can enjoy a breath of fresh air any time.

Reducing carbon footprint

We drive hybrid vehicles in Santa Monica, and none of our employees in Evanston office drive to work.  Employing technology, we reduce the need for internal meetings and traveling between the two offices. Lastly, we try to buy all supplies locally from nearby stores and avoid having to ship our purchases.
